When should I have scars treated?
Treatment is most effective when started soon after a scar is healed. Scars can be treated as soon as 8 weeks after injury.
How long before I see results?
The number of treatments depends on your scar, but many patients see their desired results after 6-12 treatments.
Can older scars be treated?
There’s no timeline on when you need to treat your scars, but treatment is most effective on newer scars. An older scar may need more treatment sessions to achieve your desired results.
What is treatment like?
Your provider may begin by applying a topical anesthetic or numbing cream to the treatment area. Then, the ProFractional or BBL device will be placed on your skin and your provider will begin your procedure. Depending on the size of the area being treated, your session may last from 15 to 30 minutes.
How do I care for my scar after treatment?
After each treatment, a moisturizer can be applied to the affected area. If you wish, a bandage can be used to cover the scar for the first 24 hours following treatment.
